CHARACTERISTICS and of Captain America
In our current society, Captain America is seen as the nice guy. He is kind, honorable, and stands for everything good in America. In the movie "The Avengers," he is certainly the most kind and moral out of all the heroes in the group. As such, Captain America is definitely a fan favorite, and he has a large following of admirers.
Why is he so beloved? There are many reason's behind this. I would argue that most America's are lovers of the underdog, and Captain America definitely has humble beginnings. We can relate to him because he started out just like us. On the other hand, we admire him because of his bravery and willingness to make sacrifices. He transcended his circumstances, something that inspires us, because we all hope that we can do the same thing. It's also refreshing to see such a noble and down-to-earth superhero. It becomes clear why Iron Man and Captain America didn't get along in The Avengers. Steve Rogers is humble in all the ways that Tony Stark is not.
As for his powers, Captain America doesn't have any innately. All his powers stem from the Super Soldier Serum given to him by Dr. Abraham Erskine. Though his powers are not superhuman, they are at the height of human potential. His strength, speed, reflexes, and regeneration are enhanced, however, because they do not fatigue, allowing him to do far more in a shorter amount of time than any regular human.
